USCIS will accept June 2007 version of Form I-9
published 27 June 2008

USCIS has updated its I-9 webpage to reflect that the 06/05/2007 version of Form I-9 is still acceptable. The validity of this version of the form has been extended to June 2009. The USCIS removed the I-9 Form that was published with a 06/16/2008 effective date. The USCIS did not provide any explanation for this change, or for the removal of the form that was posted earlier.

Employers must use the latest version of the Form I-9 when verifying the employment eligibility of employees. In addition, employers must use this version of Form I-9 when reverifying the employment eligibility of existing employees - employers should not use the reverification section on the original I-9 Form that was completed when the employee was initially hired, unless the original verification was done on the 06/05/2007 version of the I-9 Form. Employers may download a free copy of the latest I-9 Form here: http://www.uscis.gov/i-9.
