Has the H-1B cap been reached?
published 11 February 2004

Rumors have been swirling about the H-1B cap being reached.  Yesterday, Jeffrey Rummel, our Managing Partner, was an invited panelist/speaker at  an American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) meeting in Utah where it was announced that "it was imminent" that the H-1B cap would be reached. However, there was no official announcement from USCIS.  AILA had similar information posted on its website yesterday.

Today, AILA has informed its members that USCIS has indicated that "it is too early to say" exactly when the cut-off for the cap will be announced.  However, all available information indicates that the cap will be reached soon.

We will provide you with further updates as they become available.
