USCIS San Francisco Information Room closed to public on September 24, 2003
published 11 September 2003

The Citizenship and Immigration Services Information Room in the San Francisco Field Office (444 Washington Street) will be closed to the public on Wednesday, September 24, 2003.

In addition, service capacity will be significantly reduced from Thursday September 25 to Wednesday, October 1.  During this period, Information Officers will be rotated to attend training as mandated by Headquarters.  There will be limited staffing of service counters.

Forms and general information will still be available from the Reception Counter during regular public hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM).  For specific assistance such as case inquiry, passport stamping, interim EAD cards etc. customers need to obtain a ticket so that they can speak with an Information Officer at the service counters.   The number of tickets issued each day depends on the number of Information Officers available.  Tickets are issued on a first-come first-served basis until service capacity has been reached.  On most days, that occurs at or about 12 Noon.  For the period 9/25 to 10/1, the issuing of tickets may be stopped much earlier than 12 Noon.
