Israeli government confirms terms of E-2 reciprocal visa

Progress has been made for Israeli nationals looking to utilize the E-2 investor visa. At the beginning of this month, the Israeli government confirmed approval of the terms and conditions of E-2 reciprocal visa status for American investors. Israel will implement the B-5 investor visa in the upcoming months with similar terms to the U.S. E-2 investor visa. Israel and the U.S. have been working towards reciprocal investor visas since 2012. In June 2012, President Obama signed into law H.R. 3992 providing Israeli citizens E-2 investor visa eligibility. The only item holding up implementation of this law was the requirement that Israel offer a reciprocal investor visa open to U.S. nationals. With the reciprocal terms of the B-5 investor visa agreed to this criterion has now been met.

The next steps are for procedures to be published and an announcement of a date for when applications can be submitted.  It is expected that this will happen over the next few months.
