Change of address

Change of address

Every foreign national in the United States, whether in or out of status, who is a non-immigrant or lawful or conditional permanent resident, must complete Form AR-11 and submit it to USCIS within 10 daysof a change of address. The only exceptions are United States citizens and asylees. For F-1 and J-1 nonimmigrants, a change of address completed through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is considered notice of change of address.

In addition, all sponsors listed on a USCIS Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) must also notify USCIS of change of address within 30 days using Form I-865. Instead of mailing in the Form AR-11 using the U.S. Postal Service, foreign nationals may also change their address over the World Wide Web, using the USCIS Online Change of Address hyperlink referenced below. Also, the online change of address option is not effective in updating change of address for naturalization applicants.
