In Memoriam | Grace E. Hoppin | 1968 – 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we must say goodbye to our friend and colleague, Grace Hoppin. Grace died peacefully on September 28, 2013, surrounded by her family, after a brave battle against cancer. Grace was a senior associate with Jackson & Hertogs for over eight years. During that time, she diligently applied her expertise of labor department regulations to secure the immigration of hundreds of foreign professionals.

As a long-time contributing member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Grace generously shared her expertise with fellow immigration attorneys, and played a leading role with AILA’s National Department of Labor Liaison Committee. Grace was a dedicated champion for applying reason and common sense to the Labor Department’s PERM program. In 2011, she won the precedent-setting BALCA decision, Matter of Sanmina-Sci Corporation. She will be sorely missed by all of her family, friends, and colleagues.
